I didn’t think about it when I was first writing this scene, but now that I look at it, I’m quite pleased that the climax of this conversation hinges on the concept that too much knowledge is inherently dangerous. This seems very much in line with the New Youth mentality.
A shame she’s so young. A mature person might respond with, “Do you know how to hold a knife? Point a gun? We already know you’re well-versed in the arts of unlawful entry and kidnapping. The Genies have never asked for anything but fair compensation for their sacrifices and to be left alone. Who is holding mock trials to rationalize the murder of innocents? Also, your hats are stupid and you should be ashamed to be wearing them.”
He made a little girl cry though, I think that’ll look pretty bad to all but the most indoctrinated audience.
I like how they take her word as complete evidence that she knows these things, little kids exagerate what they can do all the time. (And yeah she could pilot a car but those are probably built to be easy to drive and she had actually seen someone do it as opposed to read about it.)
