Lost City Comics

This is the first page of Going Solo, a short comic for the Swan Song anthology that I made with Jam. She and I collaborated on every step of the process– we wrote it together, I laid out the pages and penciled the backgrounds, she drew the characters, inked and lettered it, then she added watercolour touches, and finally I did the rest of the colour with markers. It sounds complicated but it actually worked really well, and I’m really happy with how this one turned out.

Jam and I were both in high school band (not in the same high school, obvs), and the theme for Swan Song seemed like a great opportunity to mash both of our lives into a not-actually-auto-bio story about high school band, small towns, and making art with your friends.
