BCE 14
Chapter: BCE
Two raised hands, palms facing out, is how people from the Ancient Near East showed religious awe in their art, and, one assumes, in real life. I put that pose in a few places throughout BCE. Although I just noticed I did it wrong here– he’s got his palms facing in. That’s the Indigenous Northwest Coast way of showing honour, appreciation, or thanks to another person. Which, I guess, goes to show you who I’ve been spending more time around, lately– NOT Ancient Sumerians.
