Lost City Comics

It would be the height of ingenuousness to claim that “Canada is better now,” a single day after a gang of white supremacists in white masks congregated on reserve land in central BC to spread residential school denialism and, frankly, terror. Despite only being able to gather a smallish group by pulling in people from around the province and the country (and at least one American), these fascists are not a new phenomenon, and we cannot blame them on the rest of Canada or the United States. They are the long tail of what used to be a nightmare state, when the actual KKK had chapters in BC, when you used to be able to call for, and GET, large mobs of hundreds of random people to just show up with signs ready to call for the expulsion* of large segments of the BC population. The scene depicted in this comic happened more than once. And if their numbers are fewer now (thank goodness!) we are not close to being completely free of this terror. Especially when people are happy to forget that it was ever like this. 

*(expulsion, or whatever. It is in the nature of fascist mobs to not care how what they want gets done).
